Cards: Birthday and Thank you

Finally, I have some cards to share.  A birthday card I made for my nephew Aaron's birthday, a thank you card, and a just because card.

So my nephew Aaron has turned 17.  He's going for his road test on Friday.  I wonder how it is that my nephews and niece get older and yet I remain so youthful?  Sheah, right.

My brother has four boys (of which Aaron is one) and Charlie's sister has a boy and a girl but Aaron is my favourite.  I don't think its a secret to anyone, including Aaron and his brothers.  Anyways, we're celebrating Aaron's birthday this Saturday and I made him a card.  Still no idea what to get him by way of a present but I'm toying with the idea of taking him for his first-ever spa experience.  I think it would be a lot of fun and, more importantly, I get to go to the spa too.  I hope he likes his card.

I've had the same Stampin' Up Demonstrator for a few years now, Alison.  I met Alison through my stamping buddy, Helen.  Alison is totally the best demo ever and she's a wonderful lady too.  I think its a testament to Alison's talent and personality that her clubs are always made up of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet.  How I end up in the mix, I'll never know...seriously.  We're in the middle of our Big Shot club right now and this month was my month to host.  It was a doozy - I got sooo much stuff I still can't believe it.  I was so overwhelmed and shocked I felt compelled to make thank you cards for all the ladies of the club.  The thank you card (below) and just-because card (above) I made were inspired by a card that Alison shared with us.

I don't know if the technique has a name but it was a lot of fun.  Just grab a bunch of punches or die cuts and cut out the shapes and then back with either stamping, design paper or glitter.  I swear I don't have a thing for glitter but am constantly surprised at how often it turns up in my cards.

Anyways, maybe when my club stuff arrives I'll take a picture and post it...before the husband person sees it of course.  Insert evil laugh....

Thanks for stopping by,
Sonya

  1. Hee hee, somehow glitter ends up on my cards a lot too ;) I love the foil technique on the first card, very cool! Also love the use of vellum with the butterfly, all of these cards are beautiful!
